Saturday 26th and Sunday 27th September. 10am to 4pm
Lithography- Drawing with Crayons.
During the first day we will prepare a Lithographic stone for drawing, by hand graining. Then draw with specialty litho crayons to create an image. We will then process the stones ready for printing. (Warning: This process uses small amounts of Nitric Acid)
On the second day we will wash away the drawn images and then replace them with a greasy ink attracting bitumen. Continually keep the stone wet and roll greasy black ink onto the stone…. Simple! By the end of the session you will walk away with a small edition of your print. During the day you will “buddy up” with another participant and take it in turns to print or sponge.
Lithography is a great medium for those who love to draw. It is a slow contemplative medium that results in a soft drawn image. This is an introductory workshop suitable for beginners or those who want to reaquaint themselves with lithography.
Small group - maximum of four participants
Cost $280. Includes use of drawing materials, all processing chemicals, ink and paper for an edition of 4 prints.
