Drypoint is a non toxic intaglio process. Simply scratch an image directly onto a plate using a sharp implement (often a special tool). Apply an ink then carefully remove the excess with a woven cloth (tarlatan). Finally print the plate and moistened paper through an “etching” press under pressure.

We will work on 3 different plates, so you will take home 3 different prints. An excellent introduction to part of the intaglio printing process. Warm up during the winter solstice by printing!
